NZ Defence Force Battle Training Facility

The NZ Defence Force Battle Training Facility (BTF) is a Papakura based four-storey special operations unit built of reinforced concrete, rubber and steel with special features to simulate scenario-specific training.

It looks like a plain concrete building, but is surrounded by a special tar seal designed to stop live rounds from ricocheting. Inside is lined with steel and reinforced rubber blocks and ballistic, moveable walls to imitate different environments. The building also has a full live-fire stairwell, a main ground-floor training space with two storeys, 360-degree balcony, roof entries and many more world class training provisions.
